In July of 1995, Carmen and Ernesto, both Salvadorean Immigrants, took a risk for their American dream: to open their own business. Both met while working for Carmen's eldest brother who owned JIM Manufacturing also a very successful furniture manufacturing business in South Los Angeles. Carmen worked in the office handling orders, sales and learning all she could from her brothers. Ernesto worked as a carpenter at JIMs. They married and a couple years later decided to venture out on their own. In its humble beginnings the two worked 7 days a week, 10 hours a day. Together they have made Jenny's Furniture a South LA staple serving the community for 29 years this July 2024.
En Julio de 1995, Carmen y Ernesto, ambos inmigrantes Salvadoreños, corrieron el riesgo de crear su propio sueño Americano: Ser dueños de su propio negocio. Ambos se conocieron mientras trabajaban para el hermano mayor de Carmen, dueños de JIM Manufacturing, también un negocio de fabricación de muebles muy exitoso en el Sur de Los Ángeles. Carmen trabajaba en la oficina manejando pedidos, ventas y aprendiendo todo lo que podía de sus hermanos. Ernesto trabajó como carpintero en JIM. Se casaron y un par de años después decidieron aventurarse por su cuenta. En sus humildes comienzos, los dos trabajaban 7 días a la semana, 10 horas al día. Juntos han hecho de Jenny's Furniture un elemento básico en el Sur de Los Ángeles, que ha servido a la comunidad durante 29 años este Julio del 2024.
